Neuro Integration for Children

One of the reasons I was drawn to the Neuro Integration System of healthcare is its benefits for children – both for my own and those I was working with at the time.
If your child’s learning journey isn’t following the ‘normal’ trajectory, neuro integration is an effective way to check and help restore the brain to optimal function. It still amazes me the range of areas that impact on learning, all of which we are able to assess in a neuro integration appointment:
Looking at integration of all parts of neurology, including the prefrontal cortex, where ideas, language, and decisions are formed; the premotor cortex where we anticipate what is needed from us during schoolwork and then act with our motor cortex (such as perceiving a question and then writing an answer).
Assessing function of the hippocampus for memory storage, and the visual and auditory centres for their inputs into learning.
Checking that nerves controlling eye movements, left and right, up and down are all moving as they should to allow for smooth reading movement without brain overload.
Checking the corpus collosum is acting as the conduit between the left and right brain hemispheres, so thoughts can be turned into actions, and actions are weighed for consequences.
Looking into whether the brain is getting easily distracted by sounds or movements, making it hard to hold information.
Ensuring emotional centres are balanced to help with behavioural control and motivation.

Alongside helping with learning difficulties, neuro integration can also look at your child’s immune function, allergies, asthma, structural integrity of bones, concussion recovery, along with viral and parasitic involvement.
As a gentle, non-invasive technique, I have found that children enjoy their neuro integration sessions. They get to lie on their backs in a calm setting, and are often amazed at the muscle testing, where their arm just won’t hold up, no matter how hard they try!
If you are wondering about how you can help your child, I would love to talk to you about the opportunities of neuro integration treatment. As a mum and practitioner, I have seen and heard the wonderful difference it can make in young peoples lives, and would love to share this with you and your family. Get in touch
